Chromatin and Memory

Biography

I joined the Department of Plant Sciences as a Research Laboratory Technician with the Chromatin and Memory group led by Dr Jake Harris in January 2022. The group aims to understand how chromatin and epigenetic marks affect gene expression and memory of cellular states.

My interest in plant sciences began in my undergraduate degree which included a third-year project looking at the role of callose synthase as a response to drought stress in Arabidopsis thaliana. Prior to my current position I completed my MBiolSci in Biology at the University of Sheffield with the Department of Animal and Plant Sciences where I carried out a bioinformatics project focussing on the population genetics of the Ash dieback pathogen, Hymenoscyphus fraxineus
