The Department hosted a visit from a number of delegates from the Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) College in Malaysia, who are looking to develop teaching partnerships with UK universities. The 10 member delegation included the Secretary General of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development of Malaysia (YBhg. Datuk Seri Ibrahim Muhammad), and the Chairman and Director General of RISDA College (YBhg Dato' Haji Wan Mohamad Zuki Haji Mohamad).

The delegation met with Dr David Hanke for a general introduction to the Department's teaching, and then heard about various aspects of teaching from several staff members. They then concluded their visit with a tour of the new teaching laboratory. The Delegates were reportedly delighted with their reception and very appreciative of the quality of the presentations and interactions with the department.

The University has moved into its "red" phase in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. All University staff, except those needed for business-critical activity, are now working remotely. Please contact us by email until further notice.
