Department of Plant Sciences

Field courses are a key part of our undergraduate teaching. They help students put the material from their lectures in context, develop a spirit of curiosity, and engage with each other and their teachers in a more informal environment.

We would like to offer as many students as possible the opportunity to attend these courses and increase the diversity of those who can benefit.

The Plant Sciences field course fund provides support to those who would otherwise be prevented from attending due to financial limitations.

How you can help

  • £50 will top-up funding for a student to attend a trip.
  • £100 provides support towards a student’s travel costs on an undergraduate field trip.
  • £600 will make a significant contribution towards a student attending a field course.
  • £2,000 provides full support for one student to attend the Tropical Field course for Ecology.

Your support will ensure we can continue to fund students, regardless of their financial circumstances.

How to give

Alternatively, please contact Holly Singlehurst (hjs70@cam.ac.uk) who will be pleased to talk to you confidentially about how you might contribute.
