Circadian Signal Transduction

Biography

I am currently pursuing my PhD in biomolecular engineering at Tohoku University in the Uozumi group. My research focuses on how plants respond to environmental conditions, particularly air humidity, through the regulation of potassium transporters. I am investigating the roles of specific K⁺ transporters expressed in stomata and hydathodes, and how their activity is modulated by plant hormones such as abscisic acid (ABA) and auxin (IAA). My work aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying nutrient transport and hormone signalling during environmental adaptation. In the Webb group, I hope to deepen my understanding of the molecular mechanisms of the circadian clock and broaden my ability to analyze complex environmental responses from multiple perspectives.
