Biography:

I joined as Coordinator of the Strategic Research Initiative (SRI) in Global Food Security in January 2016. In recognition of our achievements as an interdisciplinary network, in December 2017 we became an Interdisciplinary Research Centre (IRC) and in August 2018 I became the Programme Manager of Cambridge Global Food Security.

The challenge of Global Food Security is to ensure affordable access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food for an active and healthy life for all, and to maintain sufficient natural capital to do so sustainably. The IRC's aim is to improve understanding of the challenges of food security and to develop innovative solutions.

My role is to integrate relevant University research across disciplines, support fundraising and promote activities in this area.

I have extensive experience in fundraising, science writing and editing, having previously worked at the University of Cambridge Development Office (CUDAR), University of Cambridge Office of External Affairs and Communications, and as a Commissioning Editor at Cambridge University Press.
