Academic visitors

A number of academic visitors are accepted by the Department each year depending on the space available. If you are interested in joining the Department as a visitor, you first need to contact a current member of staff and seek their agreement to host you in their group.

As an academic visitor, you can attend lectures and seminars, use appropriate facilities in the Department and Department Library, and generally join in the life of the Department.

There is a charge of £100 per month (2009/10 fee) to cover the provision of facilities. It is possible, in special circumstances, to apply for a reduction of this fee. Please discuss with your host.

Application procedure

If you would like to apply for academic visitor status and have found a member of the Department who would be willing to host you, you and your host should complete the Visitors Form and forward it to the Department Administrator (Catherine Butler;

The Department has carried out a comprehensive COVID-19 risk assessment process and has opened to allow research work to take place.
