School of Biological Sciences Career Immersion Pilot Scheme
This pilot scheme is designed to facilitate opportunities for professional services staff to experience new roles and ways of working within the School of Biological Sciences
There are two ways to get involved, one is as a host or coach - you would provide a minimum of one hour per week to use for shadowing, discussions, or providing guidance on specific tasks with an observer. Sign up via our form to have your contact details made available to interested observers! The other is as an observer - think about specific areas you’d like to explore and learn more about. Contact a host/coach to see if they’d beable to work with you.
Getting started:
1. Reflect on areas you’d like more experience in and identify an insight coach or host in that area.
2. Reach out to your chosen coach! Schedule an initial half-hour conversation to discuss roles and areas of interest.
3. Make sure you’ve got line manager approval and agree your times and dates to meet.
4. Keep a record of new skills and programs you’ve learned.
