Research Overview
Background in mathematical modelling and statistics developing strategies for experimental design and parametrisation of biological systems at different spatial and temporal scales. Currently developing strategies for forecasting risk arising from dispersion of invasive pests e.g. desert locust and arboviruses (banana bunchy top virus, BBTV) affecting staple food crops across regions of Sub-Saharan Africa. Interests in Bayesian parameter estimation, machine learning and remote sensing.
