Research Overview
Early in my life I became passionate about a broad question: "What are the molecular mechanisms behind Life and evolution?". I specialized in Bioinformatics, what enabled me to work with huge amounts of data that modern biology gives today to researchers. Within the group of Prof. Henderson, I am studying a region in the chromosomes known as centromeres. These are responsible for cell division but, paradoxically, they are poorly conserved across the Tree of Life. What’s the minimal centromere made of?
