Research Overview
I research chromatin dynamics under pathogen stress in plants, focusing on how these changes influence transcriptional stress memory to enhance immune responses, otherwise known as priming. My work explores the role of DNA methylation and histone modifications, particularly the self-reinforcing loop between CMT3 and SUVH4/KYP, in maintaining heterochromatin and its effect on transcriptional stress memory. By studying epigenetic processes like DNA methylation and chromatin remodelling, I aim to understand and engineer enhanced, long-lasting disease resistance in plants.
