About
Emily Servanté is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Crop Science Centre as part of the Department of Plant Sciences, University of Cambridge.
Biography
Emily completed her PhD at University of Cambridge, where she worked in collaboration with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Philippines to investigate the molecular genetics of diversity in arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis in indica rice. Her research now focuses further on considering the potential for the beneficial symbiosis as a biofertilizer in sustainable, water-saving rice cultivation. She collaborates with IRRI, Philippines and West African Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI), Ghana to conduct field trials evaluating the efficacy of native and applied inoculum in diverse and local host genotypes.
