Research Overview
My PhD research will focus on assessing the impact of severe wildfires on global timber trade and timber production, with a view to evaluate the biodiversity impacts of wildfire-induced changes to global timber production systems. My previous work has focused on illuminating patterns of functional and phylogenetic diversity in CITES-documented global wildlife trade, revealing distinct spatial and temporal trends in the functional profile of wild-sourced and captive-bred reptile assemblages and identifying evolutionarily distinct terrestrial vertebrate species threatened by international trade that currently lack formal protection.
