About
Aneesh Naik is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Plant Sciences, University of Cambridge.
Biography
I am Aneesh Naik, a post-doc working in the Forest Ecology & Conservation Group in the David Attenborough Building. I have had a somewhat "squiggly" career to date: I got my PhD in astrophysics from Cambridge in 2020, followed by multiple research positions in that field. I then moved to industry with a data science position in the “NatureTech” sector, before returning to academic research in my current position. I am working with the TESSERA foundation model, investigating applications to British habitat mapping/monitoring and various related questions falling under the Centre for Landscape Regeneration programme. Outside of work, I'm an enthusiastic gardener, rambler, crocheter, mapmaker, and crypto-cruciverbalist.
