Biography
I received my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at King's College London before moving to the University of Southampton to complete an MSc in Oceanography (Biogeochemistry). I am undertaking my PhD in the Coral Reef Laboratory based at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton. I am interested in how nutrient availability influences the microbial communities associated with reef-building corals and, more broadly, how nutrient landscapes impact host-microbe interactions. I am currently on a PhD placement with the Plant Nutrition and Signalling Group investigating how rice plants’ ability to sense nitrogen directly affects the susceptibility of the host plants to mycorrhizal fungi.
