The usual method of travel from London to Cambridge is by train. A guide to the train services can be found here. Once you arrive in Cambridge we recommend taking a taxi from outside the railway station - the cost will be five or six pounds.
We strongly recommend that you do not drive to Cambridge. The city is very congested and the University does not offer visitor parking. If you do choose to drive, the nearest car park is in the Grand Arcade on Corn Exchange Street, which is marked on the University Map. Because of the one-way system, approach the Grand Arcade via Pembroke Street and Downing Street. Maps of the roads around Cambridge are shown on the University Map.
The closest major airport to Cambridge is London Stansted - about half an hour by road from Cambridge. There is a bus service from Stansted to Cambridge every hour. The same coach service goes to London Heathrow (an hourly service, with a journey time of about two hours) and to London Gatwick (about three hours).
Plant Sciences is within 5 minutes' walking distance of the Cambridge bus/coach station in Drummer Street. Details of the bus services can be found here.
