Biography

Adaobi Fiona Nwokeji is an early-career researcher with interest in plant-microbe interactions, microbial diversity and nanotechnology, for biocontrol and bioremediation, as valuable resource for sustainable agriculture and promoting food security. She is pursuing an MPhil in Biological Sciences (Crop Science) at the University of Cambridge, where she investigates the effects of “Good Viruses” on crops, specifically examining how persistent viruses influence plant growth, resistance and susceptibility to viral pathogens. She aims to deepen understanding of beneficial plant–microbe interactions and identify innovative, biologically grounded strategies for crop protection and productivity enhancement. Her broader ambition is to integrate microbial diversity, biological control, and nanobiotechnology to develop sustainable agricultural systems that support both global food resilience and security.
