Public outreach activities

Explaining how work in the lab can be translated to real world situations.
Cambridge Science Festival

is one of the largest free Science Festivals in the UK. It attracts a wide audience of all ages from the local area and beyond with the aim of engaging with the public of all ages on issues of scientific interest and concern.  Plant Scientists from the Department of Plant Sciences, Sainsbury Laboratory and NIAB take part every year in the Marquee outside the Department of Plant Sciences on the first Saturday of the Cambridge Science Week.

Festival of Plants

Researchers from the Department of Plant Sciences participate in this annual event (part of the EPSO Fascination of Plants week) by sharing their knowledge and expertise with visitors via exhibits staged at the Botanic Gardens.  See archive.

Science and Plants for Schools (SAPS)

creates opportunities for teachers and students to find out more about plants and to become more interested in plant science.
