LGBT+

We welcome all of our LGBT+ colleagues to Cambridge and would like to introduce you to the LGBT+ Staff Network.

The Network is here to support all individuals who work for the University, a College or an associated institution and who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or other minority gender identities and sexual orientations. We organise social events and networking opportunities throughout the year and help arrange events to raise awareness and celebrate diversity at the University and in Cambridge. They are also a place to provide a forum for discussing diversity issues at work or study and for raising issues in a safe environment.

Cambridge University has a rich history of LGBT+ staff, fellows and students, and the University is committed to being an open, diverse and inclusive place to work and study. But what is life really like for its LGBT+ staff?

Staying in touch

There is an email list on which they post future events, as well as interesting and useful information for LGBT+ Staff. To join, please visit: https://lists.cam.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/ucam-lgbt-staff

You will need a University affiliation to join, but if you would rather add your personal email rather than your work email, please contact them and they will add you manually. The list is moderated and only the LGBT+ Staff Network Committee has access to the membership list.

You can also join the Staff Network's Facebook group.

Events

They hold a regular monthly social on the first Wednesday of every month (excluding the November social) upstairs at Baroosh, 8 Market Passage, CB2 3PF. These are always good fun and regularly have 20-30 members attending - but would love to have more, so please join! They also plan other events throughout the year, including during LGBT+ History Month in February.
