Demonstrating plant genetic innovation at NIAB Innovation Farm
The importance of impact in science is firmly embedded in both our teaching and research. Our research is translated into key areas of economic benefit and global relevance and we engage with industry and the general public to ensure the continuing relevance of our work.

The CambPlants Initiative

This provides an umbrella for activities across the University of Cambridge concerned with plants as contributors to food, energy and material security, as well as ecosystem services. www.cambplants.group.cam.ac.uk

Partnership in business support

We contribute our expertise to two external EU-funded initiatives, which focus on supporting regional business: InCrops Enterprise Hub and NIAB Innovation Farm.

Public outreach

A key part of our mission is to enhance public understanding of science and Department members are frequent presenters of plant biology and its applications to many different organisations through diverse media.
