Current research: Development of photobioreactors to study growth parameters of algae.
I'm investigating the growth of algae and cyanobacteria in photobioreactors, and by means of modelling and experimentation looking at the parameters that influence productivity. In collaboration with colleagues in the Depts of Plant Sciences and Biochemistry we are looking at genetic modifications to these parameters that aim to increase photosynthetic efficiency and the production of useful fuel molecules.
