Last Wednesday, Martin Howes, Colin Denston and Simon West attended the Green Impact awards ceremony, hosted at the Sainsbury Lab. As hoped for, the department received the Silver award to add to the Bronze award achieved in 2012. The student auditors that visited the department were impressed with the widespread reminders to think about energy wastage, light switch labelling, April’s stationery amnesty and promotion of green events and activities. It’s great to be recognised but there is always more that we can be doing. Let’s make this friendly department environmentally friendly too!
