CPPS has the following overarching aims:
- Training, recruitment and developing career paths for plant scientists.
- Providing a technology pipeline for translating the basic plant science into practice.
- Raising profile of research, development and opportunities for plant sciences in the region.
- Developing partnerships for research proposals.
- Identifying future priorities for plants as food, fuel and other products.
